Getting Fit While Riding A Recumbent Tricycle For Adults

By Janet Miller

Not everyone is able to ride a bike, kayak, or play other high intense or risky sport to stay fit. As recent statistics on obesity show, many adults give up exercising because it just isn't fun anymore. Most people rode a bike when they were a kid and started out with training wheels. While that was a fun and easy way to learn, using extra wheels in the back was not the cool way to do it. Learning to ride on just the two wheels was always the goal of every kid. However, as they grew up, the risks of doing so grew as well. Now, you can get fit while riding a recumbent tricycle for adults and have fun while doing so.

Riding on a bike is harder and not easily done for some people. Being able to ride a trike is a really easy alternative. You won't hurt your knees from running and your back will thank you for not having to lean over the front wheel while riding. You can instead, sit back and enjoy the ride. You will be able to look around and see the world as you zip past. You also avoid the embarrassment of falling over when you fail to coordinate the brakes and your feet while stopping.

Most people want to get fit. In fact, it is probably the most pledged new year's resolution every year. As summer approaches, these resolutions are renewed to get in shape for the beach body. The weather is nicer and there is no more excuse for avoiding exercise. Finding a way to do it without wanting to give up is important.

If you're not having fun, why do it? There are many different types of sports and people who love each one because they find them fun. But, if you're not in the best shape, some of the sports will wear you out in minutes. This problem of not having fun while exercising is a big reason that many people give up exercising and assume the still life. Trikes are designed to get you back outside, exercising, and enjoying yourself.

Stability is the name of the game. Bikes are great but if you lack coordination it is easy to tip over when coming to a stop. Starting is also hard for some. With the trike, you have stability because you have three wheels. This keeps you from tipping over. In fact, you don't even have to put your foot on the ground when you come to a complete stop. Just wait for the light to turn green and start pedaling again.

Longer distances are now in range. Since you won't spend your time bend over the front wheel, staring at the ground, you can go longer distances. Sitting back in the trike lets you view what is around you and you won't be hunched over while you go. Being in a sitting or slightly reclined position gives you more stamina as you go.

Trikes offer a great way to get to work. Riding your trike to work is a really good way to get in shape and start the day. You won't be winded and worn out when you get to work. There are groups that offer tours on these since they are built for people of different levels of health and exercise abilities.

Using a trike to get your exercise is both fun and beneficial. No more leaning forward and only seeing the ground. You can also go longer distances because your back will not be hurting. You can also enjoy the view as you go.
