The Risk-Free Strategy To Get Into Shape Before Summer

By Patrick Lee

Bathing suit time of year is approaching quickly and this has people taking on new eating habits (shunning those of the winter season) and promising themselves that they will get in shape before the weather prevents them from hiding their bodies under heavy layers of clothing. Lots of people attempt to take on too much too soon with their exercise sessions because they are so eager to lose weight and get into amazing shape before anybody will be able to look at their bodies. Unfortunately, looking for ways to into shape too rapidly can really be harmful to your health. Doctors just about everywhere agree that it won't help you to just leap into a daily workout routine. So how are you supposed to get in shape in time to put on that swimsuit?

Before you choose to do anything else, you should see your doctor. Ask for a complete physical check up. This will allow you to see precisely what your kick off point is before you start working out and trying to get in shape. Your doctor will help you figure out how much you should weigh and what your body mass index should be as well as letting you know if you have any particular health conditions that you need to remember when you start working to get in shape. Your physician can help you construct some nutritional guidelines so that you can also work to get your diet under control.

Begin your efforts slowly. Don't attempt to run five miles instantly. A very good plan for working your way straight into shape is Couch to 5K. This is a program that increases the distance and time you spend running until you're ready to take on a 5K run. Obviously, however, you need to do a lot more than just running to get in shape. Weight training and cardiovascular training are important too. If you don't have time for that many exercise sessions, find a way to implement the Couch to 5K program to a swimming routine so that you can work all of your body systems slowly but surely.

You needs a support team. If you can find people to undertake the work with you you will have a much greater chance of losing weight and getting in shape when you have a support group even if you find your weight gain embarrassing. You can work together to eat right and exercise-these are usually individuals who can go to weight watchers meetings with you, take exercise classes with you, etc. For folks who are uneasy doing this with people they know "in real life" they can find emotional support online. There are many internet organizations for people who are trying to lose weight that you can join.

The uncomplicated truth is that it is likely to take time to shed weight and get into shape. The sooner you start to modify your eating habits and workout habits the better off you will be. The sooner you set your adjustments in place the easier you will find getting in shape to be. Remember, in this case, slow and steady is absolutely the way to go: your body and health will thank you for it come summer time.
