Adopting The Herbal Tea For Weight Loss And Its Benefits

By Betty West

You might have come across hundreds of solutions to weight issues, including intensive exercise regimes, and dozens of dietary recommendations. Most of these require lots of input and patience, and unfortunately, not most of us are able to sustain the momentum long enough to reap the benefits. This may explain why the obesity rate is still so high among the general population. What if you are told that you can burn the extra fats by just relaxing as you enjoy a cup of your favorite brew? Herbal tea for weight loss is real. It has proven to work beyond any doubt.

The nation has a long history and a healthy relationship with the teapot. The big question, however, remains, if so many of us are taking, at least, a cup or two per day, why are we not getting the Hollywood bodies? Why is the number of those becoming obese increasing?

There is a catch. It is not your humble cups of the Tetley's or even the PG Tips that has these amazing powers. In order to experience these amazing powers, you have to turn to the exotic leaves. Herbal teas are the brews that are made of any other plant other than the plants considered the traditional tea plants. The herbal teas are generally low in calorie.

The different herbs also work in different ways. The weight loss properties include dimming the hunger hormones, increasing the rate of calorie burn, and at times even melting the fats in the fat cells. Automatically, this translates to lower risk of heart attack, diabetes, and other obesity-related diseases. The herbal teas include a large variety of brews that are made from the plants that are not within the range of the traditional plants for the teas.

A cup of the traditional brew only provides two calories, as a replacement for high-calorie soda; you are on the right track. Feiyan is a brew in this category with the origin from the Chinese herbs. T is made of the green tea, lotus leaves, vegetable sponge and the cansia seeds. It has been found to help suppress appetite, reduce the blood fats (cholesterol level), and help in body detox.

The other herbs commonly used to make the brew include cinnamon, the red raspberry leaf, the ginger root and the chamomile. The herbs help the consumer minimize the chances of choosing a poor diet. They may come with the additional properties such as the ability to suppress appetite, burning of fat cells, increase the rate of metabolism, and suppress the formation of new fat cells and lipids among others.

For instance, you can replace a 12-ounce can of soda with just 2 cups of the herbal tea. This means a 300 calorie reduction per day translating to a minimum of 1/2 pound loss of weight every week.

In order to avoid disappointment, stick to approved brands only. As much as possible, consult your doctor, seek his advice in regards to the brand you are using and keep him in the know at all the time. This is even more important for breastfeeding mothers and any person with conditions related to heart, kidney, and liver.
